- “It was a creditable performance against a decent team and should ensure our Premier League safety.”

- “Bolton were the better team first half and created most of the chances (although without finding a finish)… 1-0 down at the break was harsh.”

- “Tamir Cohen was man of the match” … OR … “he did OK but Chris Basham deserved a starting place more” … “either way, both of them deserve to play ahead of Gavin McCann.”

- “Cohen definitely deserves a place against Wigan” … “we have some really good competition for places now in the midfield.”

- “At least we managed to avoid 12 losses out of 12 against the top six!”

Negatives
- “Villa were useless but we were just as bad and we gifted them their goal… it was a pile of dross.”

- “The jury is still out on Johan Elmander. He seems to lack basic ball control… and the worst thing is that Elmander being in the team means Kevin Davies has to play out of position” … “he should have been taken off because he never looked like scoring. We’d have been better off with Nicky Hunt up front.”

-  “Fabrice Muamba looks like he can barely kick a ball properly… he’s completely lost his confidence.”

- “The Megson haters were out in force in the West Stand from the very first minute.”
