Mugabe set to make Everton bid – World Exclusive
Monday March 22nd, 2010
Another amusing insight into the word of football according to bwfc forum regular Warren Obb
Controversial former Rhodesian premier, Robert Mugabe, has emerged as the shock front-runner to take over penniless premiership high-flyers Everton.

I guarantee I'll be in the first team by Saturday...
Currently president of the former British colony – now known as “Zimbabwe” – Mugabe’s interest could end chairman Bill Kenwright’s long search for a buyer.
If Mugabe, 86, does take over from theatre impresario Kenwright, he will become the latest in a long line of controversial Everton chairmen believed to include Isaac Newton and Leonardo DaVinci.
An Everton supporter last night told this column: “I’m not bothered who takes over – it could be Robert Mugabe for all I care – as long as we get the investment we need.”
Mugabe’s interest may not be popular in all quarters, however. Known to favour a policy of “hyperinflation”, some fans are already worried that ticket prices will rocket astronomically.
Adding credibility to the rumours, Everton are currently refusing to take calls, whilst Mugabe is believed to be overseas and unavailable for comment.

yeah real funny

This might have been half funny if it was done by a fan of a decent football club, such as Villa or Utd for example but when it’s done by a fan of Bolton then it just doesn’t work. You see, Everton are far, far superior to Bolton in every and I mean every way. You play the worst football in league, Phil Gartside is your chairman…I would really rather have Mugabe. Gary Megson was booed in his first match before a ball had even been kicked by your horrible munich 58 singing bellend fans…btw it will be fun watching United rip you apart next week pushing you closer to the trap door, it’s just a pity that Portsmouth, Hull and the shinking ship of a team that your manager left for yourselves will probably save you.
Do you still go on about the ball being over the line all those years ago, we were as shit as you back then but it was the second game of the season and plus it was a foul on Southall but don’t let the facts get in the way.

Shit site, shit club, shit city!
March 23, 2010
Funny that is
March 23, 2010
I’m a blue that was funny. I know a few Bolton fans who supported everton back in the day and I’ve got nothing against the Trotters.

Peter Kay, eat your heart out….!
March 23, 2010
whose the idiot from farnworth? why don’t you go and support your local team you stupid glory hunting cretin. why are you so bitter? i would take not winning again for the rest of the season just to turn scum like you over!
take it you wont be going? will be a sky job like most united ‘fans’ will it?
wait till city start winning everything then you will have to explain to your children how daddy’s football shirt collection suddenly turned blue.
what goes up, must come down…may not be in 10 years, may be more than 20…but believe me, all you scummy, non-manchester, glory hunting barstewards will eat your words one day and cry in to your prawn sandwiches, you will know what its like to support a club that cannot guarantee you glory (although by this point i assume you will have lost interest anyway)
yeh, we dont have the biggest fan base in the world, but i dont care. i like most other bolton fans am proud of my town and regardless of whatever happens, will always have my support! and dont try telling me scumchester is not a glory hunters club…ive been on a train coming back from london to manchester when you have been playing at home – its a not so eclectic mix of cocky southerners with there scarfs and shirts on and chinese tourists taking a day out. you sold out – just like your club has to the world market and i feel sorry that you have to call yourself a supporter, you must have manhood issues because your scared of losing (should have supported bolton anyway as your from bolton – proving your a glory hunter)
right that said…article was funny!
March 23, 2010
Not as funny as Stan Boardman….. Oh how he makes me & me gran laugh.
March 23, 2010
Is this true? Sky Sports News isn’t carrying this story.
March 23, 2010
Although it wasn’t the funniest of articles, I’m surprised at how many Everton fans have taken umbridge, and are even downright nasty. What happened to the renowned Scouser’s sense of humour? If this miserable, childish and spiteful response is all we can expect nowadays, you may as well stay in the shadow of the other lot, becouse you’ve nothing to show the rest of us. A shame, you’ve always been a good bunch of supporters, with a pretty good team and manager. How times change.

where did this story come from i do think bill kenwright will never sell everton fc he said that the right offers comes he would accept it that was years ago he said that if he want to sell he done it by now . no chance
March 23, 2010
I’m an Everton fan, I thought that was quite amusing. And I bet the small matter of a few crimes against humanity wouldn’t prevent Robert ‘the Butcher’ Mugabe from passing the FA’s ‘fit and proper persons’ test.
March 23, 2010
So Robert Mugabe is our next owner? Is he rlated to that well known “Yorkshire chap” Mr Ebagum or is this just another rumour?
