Recommended reading (21.11.08): Sam Allardyce goes Nuts

What Manny Road has been reading (and thinking) about Bolton Wanderers over the last couple of days…

- This discussion about how Gary Megson has made less substitutions than any other manager in the Premier League (backing up what I wrote here about his lack of a plan b).

- Heidar Helguson joining QPR on loan despite Megson saying only a few days ago that the squad isn’t big enough (another example of the inconsistent messages being sent out from the club on this issue).

- At least we have the 5th best defence in the Premier League, though.

- Debates about Ivan Campo’s potential availability on loan from Ipswich Town, ranging from bring him home to wasn’t Megson clever to get rid (I think I’ve made my views clear).

- More transfer talk (plenty more of this to come as January approaches), including links with Ferrie Bodde, Szabolcs HusztiOscar Ahumada and Ryan Taylor.

- This interview with Mustapha Riga in which he says English centre halves are rubbish.

- Sam Allardyce (apparently) tipping us for relegation in, er, Nuts magazine. Still, he may not rate us but he does quite likes boxing, according to this article.

- And finally… this amusing tale from Vital Bolton Wanderers about the worst transfer rumour ever, involving Ricardo Vaz Te joining Real Sociedad in January (that’s the same Ricardo Vaz Te that’s injured until the end of the season).
