Sunderland v Bolton Wanderers: The fans’ view
Sunday November 30th, 2008
The Bolton Wanderers match report you won’t read in the papers (or see on Match of the Day)
Here’s what the various Bolton Wanderers discussion forums made of the 4-1 win at Sunderland…
- A 4-1 away win against anyone in the Premier League is a great result. This was our biggest ever win at Sunderland.
- It’s time to get off Gary Megson’s back. All the Megson haters have disappeared. The Ginger Mourinho is back! And for that several fans would like to apologise to him… here and here.
- Not only that, but he’s probably going to win Premier League Manager of the Month as well.
- Not everyone’s convinced about Megson though (what do you think?). Tony Kelly even had to go on 606 to defend Megson after a couple of fans rung up to slag him off.
- There are various reasons for our improved form, some of which are down to Megson and some of which aren’t.
- It was obvious Johan Elmander would come good once he settled in and got fit. It’s time he had a song.
- Our goals were first on Match of the Day, things must be looking up.
- El-Hadji Diouf loved it when the Wanderers fans were singing his name. He could be available in January, do we want him back?
- The travelling support had a great day out all day round. They were certainly better than the Sunderland fans.
- We’ve got a tough couple of months ahead, but after two great wins on the road it’s important to get behind the team against Chelsea next week, and to not get on their backs if we don’t win… it is Chelsea after all.
